Counseling Services

I provide a focused therapy plan and effective tools, and will support you with non-judgmental compassion and respect, empowering you to make choices so you can live in peace and harmony with yourself and others.

Individual Counseling

All sessions are private and completely confidential, except as mandated by law. These exceptions are described in the initial paperwork and discussed thoroughly in our first session, making sure to answer any questions that you might have. I do everything that I can to provide a safe, warm and comfortable environment to explore and process your thoughts, feelings and experiences. The first session is usually an introductory meeting to discover whether we feel that it will be helpful to work together. Most sessions are typically about 50 minutes in length.

Couples Counseling

Intimate relationships are powerful with an amazing potential both to heal and to harm. When a couple reaches challenges they do not possess the skills to overcome, it can be helpful to seek help from a counselor.

In general, intimate relationships can be emotional. Loving people can get locked in a dance that does not meet their needs. Sometimes it takes an outside person to help work through the issues, to change the music. Don't let the issues you're facing destroy the bond you share with the one(s) you love. You deserve the love and support of a strong, cohesive relationship.

Betrayal Trauma Counseling

There are many ways to experience betrayal trauma. One of the most injurious forms of betrayal trauma is the betrayal that occurs in an intimate relationship. Discovering that your partner has a sex addiction or is heavily involved in porn can be devastating to your relationship. You may feel alone and ashamed about your partner's behavior and have the urge to try to control how he or she acts out. It is important to take care of yourself and to get the support that you need as you navigate this chapter in your life.

Group Counseling for Sex Addiction

Sex Addiction can have a truly negative impact on your family, your career, your relationships, and your health. It can disrupt your life in ways that you never thought possible. Many don't realize the actual damage that porn does to the brain. If you are dealing with compulsive sexual behavior, it can be tempting to think that you can handle it on your own or that if you simply had enough willpower, you could manage it. This type of thinking further isolates you, making you even more vulnerable to addiction. As it has been said, "Connection is the opposite of addiction." Recovery happens with effective support. Certified Sex Addiction Therapists are trained to help guide you through this process.

Healthy Sexuality: Talking about our sexuality is deeply personal and isn't always easy. When problems arise, they can become even more difficult to discuss. Low libido, pain during intercourse, or even painful past sexual abuse and trauma are difficult challenges to overcome in order to move toward healthy sexuality.

No matter how long you've been dealing with a sexual issue, it can take a serious toll on your life and well-being. Therapy designed to help you understand the factors that influence your sex-related decisions and offer suggestions on how to avoid engaging in harmful, destructive patterns can help to support your journey towards a healthy sexuality.

Anger Management

Anger is a normal, healthy human emotion. However, left uncontrolled, it has the power to damage relationships, at home and at work. It may even cause serious health problems. If you're struggling to express your anger or other emotions in a healthy, productive way, signing up for an anger management class is a great start.

While treatment for anger varies between individuals and I tailor my classes to meet the needs of those attending, all clients learn:

  • How to evaluate the circumstances that typically trigger your anger

  • Strategies that may help you respond to emotional situations appropriately

  • Tools and resources designed to promote a positive, rational expression of anger

Whether your anger has already resulted in personal, professional, or legal consequences, or you simply want to begin working on managing your anger, this class can help you.

I invite you to schedule a supportive consultation.
